- Those blocks are "frames". The error control protocol puts a certain
- amount of data into a container, a frame. These units are transmitted to
- the remote modem. Each frame has a frame check sequence (FCS), which
- allows to verify whether the frame arrived undamaged. Damaged frames are
- retransmitted.
